About Me
My vocation as a doctor became apparent at the age of 13, inspired by Dr. Teresa del Moral: my aunt and mentor. She gave me the opportunity to visit the hospital where she worked as a pediatrician. There, I experienced first-hand what it means to be a doctor and take care of the most vulnerable patients: children. Since then, I had no doubt: I wanted to be a doctor, but not only that; I wanted to be a pediatrician.
I studied medicine in my hometown, Granada. While pursuing my medical degree, many different subjects and rotations through hospitals caught my attention, although it was always clear to me that my specialty would be Pediatrics. For this reason, in the fifth year, I went to Miami (USA) to do a rotation in a reference hospital: Jackson Memorial Hospital. As a result of this experience, I decided to take the United States Medical License Examination (USMLE Step 2 Clinical Knowledge), which I passed in May 2016.
In February 2016, I was admitted as a Resident Medical Intern (M.I.R.) at the Malaga Maternal and Infant Hospital. Being a third level pediatric hospital, I had the opportunity to rotate through all the subspecialties. I dedicated my fourth year entirely to Pediatric Oncology. To enhance my knowledge, I worked for three months in the Childhood Oncohematology and Hematopoietic Progenitor Transplantation Unit of the Niño Jesús Hospital in Madrid, within the resident rotations program.
During the residency, I combined my professional practice with academic activity and continuous training, in order to progress in my medical vocation. Among my postgraduate studies I have a Master's Degree in Pediatric Emergencies at CEU Cardenal Herrera University as well as four university experts in Pediatric Emergencies, Pediatric Trauma, Critical Pediatric Patient and Pediatric Emergencies.
In June 2020 I started working for the Public Health Service as a Pediatrician at the Punta Europa Hospital in Algeciras. Since my incorporation, I have combined assistance in the hospital ward with outpatients visits, with a subspecialty in Pediatric Pneumoallergology. I make this activity compatible with private medical care at "My First Doctor" (Sotogrande-San Roque).
